The paddle-shift retrofit is designed specifically for BMW Steptronic automatic gearboxes, allowing you to change gears using steering wheel mounted F1 - style paddles, just like on the SMG equipped BMW models, increasing driver enjoyment and safety.
This kit will work on most BMW models built after 03/1999 with Steptronic transmission.
Installation takes about two hours and is quite straightforward for the DIY enthusiast, requiring no ECU reprogramming and no complicated circuit modifications.

The kit as listed on this page comprises of wiring harness, steering boss adapter slip ring and instructions.
You will also require an SMG paddle equipped steering wheel and possibly new airbag module, depending on your current steering wheel design. We can supply the steering wheel also if you wish, please refer to Variations section ( click on red button at top right) for steering and airbag options.
If your car does not currently have multifunction buttons on the steering wheel, we can delete these form the replacement SMG wheel and recover as shown in adjascent photo.
