What does a strut brace (aka stress bar or strut bar) do?
The concept of a strut bar is intended on reducing the flex between the front strut towers during hard cornering loads, allowing the suspension points to remain undisturbed,thus allowing the suspension to do it's job properly. This often gives the drive a feeling of increased stability and improved turning response.

Who can benefit from a strut bar?
For those that may believe a strut bar is only for "track cars" or "racecars", it is also street driven vehicles that benefit from a properly engineered strut tower bar.

What to look for in a strut tower brace?

-Sufficient protection of the strut tower top (to prevent "mushrooming")
-No pivots or heim-style joints to allow the bar to flex or bend, but adjustable, to allow for intention suspension changes.
-Center bar with no bends or kinks (straighter is stiffer!)
rovide adequate underhood clearance (so not to dimple the hood)
-Allow for suspension changes (for those that frequent the track)
-Made from the best materials available (for lightweight, coefficient of thermal expansion)

Features and Benefits
- ACQ Heat Treated 6061-T6 aluminum for the strut base plates. These are CNC'd to shape to ensure perfect fitment, and offering protection of the strut tower top from the road hazards such as potholes.
-CNC connecting arm, elevates the center bar to the proper high. Both of these items are clear anodized to protect the finish.
-The CNC connecting arm and center strut bar positively lock together without the inefficient heim-style joints or pivots. Once secured together, they cannot move, twist or slide apart.
-The carbon fiber center bar is completely straight, without any bends or kinks in its path. This offers the most resistance to compression and tensile forces.
-The carbon fiber used in the center bar is completely hollow and void of any additional fillers (such as fiberglass). The aluminum ends of the center bar are secured with an aircraft exopy with such strength that the center bar would break first, before the expoy were to ever fail.
-Designed to offer adequate clearance over the engine components as well as underhood clearance. This is especially important in E36 coupes, as the underhood clearance is the lowest of all of the E36 models. Other strut tower braces will either put too much pressure in the hood release lever or worse, dimple the hood.
-Strut tower mounts completely cover the strut tower area, preventing costly sheet metal damage from "mushrooming", especially with lowered cars.
Removal of the strut brace takes only minutes with simple hand tools, in the event suspension camber/caster changes need to be made for those with adjustable plates.
-Extremely lightweight (2.4 lbs. E46 version, 3.8 lbs. E46 M3 version, 3.3 lbs. E36 version), it provides functionality and improves underhood appearance at the same time.
-E46 M3 is uniquely designed to clear the engine components, while maintaining all of the design characteristics demanded of a Rogue Engineering product.

The new Competition-Lightweight ("CL") Strong-Strut, does not take the place of our legendary Steel Evoloution version, it is an addition to our product line,for buyers who are sensitive about adding additional weight to their car.
The new alloy, Lightweight-Competition or "CL", is CNC machined from solid aircraft grade 6061 alloy, heat treated to T-6 specifications for added strength. The CL breaks new ground in the alloy strut field by utilizing our exclusive "Direct Block Pivotless Design." Extremely robust and immovable, this design features an extended cross bar that attaches directly to the tower ring block without the need for additional fittings. There are no "hollow tubes" or "stamped components" in the construction of the CL. In addition, we continue with our massive, proven, two inch wide and one half inch thick, machined alloy cross bar with weight saving, decorative, drilled holes.

RACEBRACE Features and Benefits

Lightweight tubular steel bars are MIG welded to high strength steel plates and powdercoated black for a durable finish. Steel is used for its superior CTE over other materials (such as aluminum or magnesium alloy).
The multiple bar configuration, with center support bars, resist twisting and bending of the front chassis.
Fits all 6-clyinder 1992-1999 E36 models, including those equipped with ASC+T.
Open tower design allows for easy access to adjustable camber plates and shock adjustments.

Features a heavy walled chromoly steel center tube and aerospace quality CNC machined strut top housings. At each housing, the steel tubes precision-machined barrel couplers are precisely inserted into our 6061-T6 CNC machined billet aluminum housings. This allows the housing to perform "Pre-Load" capabilities so tension is created within the brace and then set, eliminating any lag in response time. Stress is transferred throughout the entire housing, as the removable cover is re-inserted to perform as a balanced structural member of the brace for complete structural rigidity.
