When a BMW is lowered, it can cause additional and unwanted negative camber (which leads to premature and uneven tire wear) which the factory rear control arms do not have the ability to dial out. Additionally, factory rear control arms are frequently damaged when an E36/E46 is towed by unknowing tow truck operators, who easily find the factory arms a convenient (but incorrect) location to secure the vehicle.

Description

HYBRID Camber / Caster Plates, a special version of Ground Control's race plates, toned down for dual-purpose cars. Uses a proprietary upper perch with a rubber insulator.

More camber adjustment than stock, caster adjustment, aircraft bearings, engraved with calibrated degrees, with stainless steel reinforcement. Every component is anodized or plated, including fasteners. Adds extra travel to avoid excessive bottoming out, this is a very well engineered product. The stainless steel reinforcement prevents electrolysis between the steel fender and the aluminum camber plate.

Camber and caster are separately adjustable by sliding the mounts, without removing any components from the car. The priority of this design is to allow fast, repeatable alignment changes at the track.

The Ground Control camber plates feature two sets of bearings, a proprietary bearing, made to our specs by Aurora in the USA, which allows for articulation of the shock shaft. This spherical bearing is very understressed, as the Ground Control design does NOT support the weight of the car on the spherical bearing. Instead, the weight of the car is supported by a completely separate articulating needle bearing, which is also manufactured for Ground Control in the USA.

Say goodbye to rear end clunks! With the introduction of the Rogue Engineering Rear Shock Mounts, you have a high quality, rebuildable, easily serviceable rear shock mount.

Fits the following vehicles:

Rogue Engineering Rear Shock Mount Set includes:

Two (2) Rogue Engineering 6061-T6 CNC, Anodized Rear Shock Mounts.
Four (4) Shore A 65 Bushings (2 required per mount).
Two (2) 303 Stainless Steel Bushing Spacers (to be used with standard 10mm rear shocks).
Four (4) 303 Stainless Steel Washers (2 required per mount).
Four (4) Yellow Zinc plated serrated lock nuts.

Problems with Factory Mounts
The factory BMW rear shock mounts are generally a little soft, to provide the most possible acoustically dampening in the vehicle. However, design precludes them from being stout enough to withstand the rigours of aftermarket suspension, or even badly damaged roads. A decent sized pothole can send a perfectly good factory rear shock mount to pop out, making it entirely useless necessitating replacement. Upgrading to E46 M3 rear mounts (a popular alternative) is not a guarantee that it doesn't happen again and again.

Rogue Engineering Rear Shock Mount Features
By producing a rear shock machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, we are able attain a more stable, and stiffer platform which to mount the top of the rear shock. However, rather than use race-only spherical bearings or even overly stiff urethane bushings, we specify Shore A 65 hardness rubber bushings (approximately 30% stiffer than the factory bushings) to allow for some level of street comfort. The orientation of the bushings makes it impossible for the bushings to "pop out" in the manner which the factory mounts fail. If required, the bushings are also replaceable, when the time comes to rebuild them.

Another feature is the reinforcement assembly which secures the rear shock mount to the vehicle. By reinforcing the top of the shock tower in the vehicle, it protect against the rear shock from ripping out the sheet metal. The reinforcement has its hardware welded to it, allowing for the rear shock mount to become a bottom-mount design. This means that if the rear shocks need to be removed, it only requires removing the two nuts and the single bolt at the bottom of the shock. No need to completely disassemble the trunk area to gain access. If being used with a rear strut tower brace, the reinforcement assembly may be mounted from the bottom, so that the rear shock mount can be secured in the traditional manner.

The Rogue Engineering Rear Shock Mounts are designed to be used with standard 10mm rear shocks, but can also be used with 12mm adjustable race shocks with the use of optional washers.

Lowering the suspension on your car will also alter it's chassis geometry ( camber , castor, toe etc ) , so it is imperative to reset the full range of geometry settings following such installations to achieve the best possible chassis feel , handling , roadholding and tyre wear patterns .
Quite often an aftermarket lowering or coilover kit will take the geometry beyond the possible range of adjustment using the factory suspension components and mounts ; in these cases you must fit a good set of aftremarket alignment correction hardware .
Below are listed our recommended range of options for such products.

As an approximate guide for BMW cars, lowering the factory ride height by 50 mm will alter the Front Camber by 1.50 degrees and Rear Camber by 1.0 degrees . A 75 mm drop will alter by 2.50 degrees front and 2.00 rear .

These SPC kits offer increased front and rear camber adjustment , allowing you set your suspension to the exact required parameters.

Description
Whether you need a positive camber change and don’t have adjustable camber
plates or you are looking for more adjustment with your camber plates, you
can change your camber by shimming the strut and spindle with the TMS bolt
kit. There are some things to take into account with this kit so please read the
installation tips below. An alignment is strongly recommended after installing
this part.

Applications: 1992-1999 E36 and 1994-2002 Z3

Parts list for kit:
• 4 12mm bolts
• 12 12mm washers

When would it be a good time to perform this work on my car?

The next time you are doing alignment or a track set up.
Installation Tips:

1. There are three washers per bolt. One washer must stay on the outside of the
strut. The other two washers can be put between the strut and spindle for more
camber if needed. If only one or no washers are needed, the extra washers
should also be put on the outside.

2. You will also need to check the clearance from the wheel and tire to the strut.
When you install washers between the strut and spindle, this tilts the wheel and
tire towards the strut. You will need at lest 5mm clearance or the tire will rub the
strut or spring perch.

3. If you need more wheel to strut clearance wheel spacers will solve the problem
as long as you have enough wheel to fender clearance. Turner Motorsport has
widths of spacers from 5mm to 30mm available for this car.

Probably the most overlooked suspension component in the performance world is the sway bar / anti roll bar end-link.
This simple component attaches the sway bar to each end of the suspension so the sway bar can do its job; promoting flat cornering of the vehicle in a turn.
This simple component can drastically hurt your car's performance if not optimized, especially in a BMW where high sway bar rates [and therefore high stresses] are common.

A sway bar with fixed length links can induce a load into any two cross-corners of your vehicle. The ability to neutralize the sway bar in your suspension system is a great advantage to baseline, balance, and refines your vehicle's handling characteristics. These links have achieved this by creating adapters that integrate current sway bar link technology to the traditional sway bar architecture. A worth while upgrade for any modified BMW.

Common issues with incorrect type or set up of drop links :

-Have you ever had a sway bar link bend..?
-Do you know if you are having suspension bind due to insufficient sway bar end link articulation (or simply poor design, bad bushing, etc)..?
-Have you ever had a sway-bar link fail at the welded joint between the ball and the link..?
-Do you want to properly corner weight your car..?

All these common issues that your vehicle may have had are addressed with this set.

These sway bar end links are the best solution, and unlike many others on the market these INCLUDE WEATHERPROOF "BOOTS" to help prevent the early demise of "open" type of drop link joints through corrosion / clogging .

Eliminate sway bar pre-load that adversely affects handling, strengthen your suspension, and truly optimize your setup with this strong Adjustable Sway Bar Link Set!... With no penalty, these links are quiet, just like OE links.

Put Simply: no matter at what ride height, stock or otherwise, OEM sway bar links are a weak link (literally) and add preload to your suspension. These adjustable links are superior to all other designs and unlike the upgraded units that may have come in your aftermarket sway bar kit, these have no polyurethane to squeak, tear, or blow out on the track.
These links feature a THK ball socket that is pre-lubricated, and sealed for durability and prolonged life. THK is an OE manufacturer for Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Ford, GM, Toyota and even BMW.

Ford In developing the new OEM suspension for their 2010 GT500, found these links made such a difference the factory test drivers believed the prototype sway bars had been re designed and they became OE equipment of this model. Thats an improvement!
