Due to the new air intake system enabling the engine to breathe in even more air than usual, optimised exhaust valves, and the use of free flow exhaust manifolds the CSL uses different camshafts with longer valve opening periods.

The CSL is fitted with its own unique free flow tubular exhaust system which has thinner walls and is lighter than that fitted to the standard E46 M3.
Some owners still upgrade the CSL's exhaust system although power improvement can only come from the fitting of high flowing race cats.

This kit uses only genuine BMW CSL parts, allowing you to fit the comlplete CSL carbon airbox asembly to your "normal" E46 M3. Consists of:

- complete carbon airbox components and filter, down to the last nut and screw AND the CSL oil dipstick assembly

- software additional cost

IMPORTANT NOTES:

1. the quoted cost for this kit is for manual transmission cars. For SMG cars you will also require to purchase at extra cost the genuine CSL SMG reservoir kit.
2. the original CSL airbox motorised flap is DELETED from this kit and compensated for in the new supplied software. The cost to integrate the flap into this conversion would be prohibitive, and offer no significant advantage on the non - CSL cars.
3.If you have a genuine or replica CSL front bumper we can also supply you the genuine BMW ducting parts to connect from the new airbox to the circular bumper intake opening, at extra cost.
4. you can retain the original BMW oil dipstick but it must be bent around to clear the CSL airbox. Alternatively you can also opt for the genuine CSL dipstick sensor and instrument cluster at extra cost so the oil level would be displayed electronically on the instrument cluster same as on the CSL.
5. If you also wish to use the CSL spec camshafts we can provide suitable software.
6. you must send us your ECU for remapping for this conversion
