A popular modification in Europe for years now, these airboxes provide a larger, more free flowing intake and plenum, greatly improving your M3's power, throttle response, under bonnet appearance and engine note.

Made in GERMANY from mostly 100% pre preg carbon fibre, at 2.25 Kgs these also offer a significant weight reduction over the OEM plenums.

What sets our airbox apart from many other similar items on the market is that it is an exact replica of the Genuine BMW CSL airbox…BMW spent tens of thousands of Euros developing this item, so it would be arrogant of us tuners to claim to have improved it ! Like the genuine item it uses an INTERNAL air filter for best performance ( boxes with external cone filters never run 100% right).

It is important to note that we have also replicated the INSIDE of the BMW airbox too, (funnels, spacing, air seperator rods etc) as THIS is what makes the difference.

Like the genuine BMW CSL, this airbox eliminates the restrictive M3 OEM mass Air Meter and runs on a modified Alpha N type software. However we also offer a version for those that prefer to keep the Mass Air Meter and use an air external filter.

NOTE : Dyno charts shows power increase of + 32 bhp , measured on 2004 E46 M3 with 100cell catalysts, Eisenmann rear exhaust and this CA carbon airbox and software.

The ultimate carbon fibre plenum / airbox / intake system ?

Taking the CSL airbox concept a whole step further, this air intake system was primarily designed for race cars, but can be used on street cars just the same, providing the following advantages over the OEM and most other aftermarket intake systems :

- True Ram Air operation, supplying a highly pressurised air supply
- Greater available air volume for instant throttle response
- Colder intake temps, the faster you go the colder the incoming air temps ( "wind chill" effect)
-More free flowing supply of air to the engine

All these factors combine to improve your M3's power, throttle response, under bonnet appearance and engine note. Made from 100% pre preg carbon fibre, at approx 2.5 Kgs this kit also offer a weight reduction over the OEM intake /plenum.

Power gains depend on many factors (such as condition of engine, quality of mapping, other mods to the car etc), but gains of 35 -50 Bhp are typical (E46M3, NOT CSL), particularly at speeds over around 100 mph where the ram - air pressurisation effect is most effective.

Typically this type of "CSL-style" air box is used without the factory standard Mass Airflow Meter (MAF) and with the car's software being converted to Alpha N system protocols, which we can also offer at extra cost, please enquire.

Slide throttles operate just like they sound, in that the throttle plates slide sideways, instead of rotating about an axis as for butterflies in more traditional throttle body set ups.

Mainly used for racing, the advantage is that when the throttles are fully open, the plates are completely removed from the airflow, so there is no obstruction blocking the inlet path to the combustion chambers.

These throttle bodies have a +1.5mm larger bore than factory versions, offering approx 12% more volumetric flow at 7000 rpm.

Ideal as part of a larger tuning package ( either naturally aspirated or force inducted) or as a standalone upgrade. ECU remapping is recommended for best results.

These are exactly same design, specification and quality as sold by other companies at almost twice the price.

Fits all S50 /52 /54 engines.

This item will "plug and play " as delivered and provide increased pick up and power in mid - high rev range, but for very best results a remap would be required ( but not essential).
